About us
Geelong Animal Referral Services (GARS)
GARS is the brainchild of two of Victoria’s leading specialist surgeons, Dr Ricky Cashmore and Dr Adrian Wallace. Our vision is to provide a state of the art referral hospital and specialist team for all pets and pet owners to access. Best possible care is the GARS standard of care.
The hospital
GARS is a brand new, purpose built facility situated in Newtown, Geelong. The building occupies a beautiful greenspace area immediately adjacent to the Barwon River and overlooks the Balyang Sanctuary and Balyang Golf Course.
The hospital is superbly equipped with a comprehensive array of the latest and greatest medical equipment to facilitate a world class clinical service with MRI, CT, ultrasound and fluoroscopy services all available on site.
The hospital enjoys exclusive use a greenspace area in front of the hospital to exercise and toilet patients and facilitate client visits. The centre is privately owned and proudly independent.
Our aim
We aim to provide the highest standard of specialist care to referring veterinarians and pet owners in the South West. Ricky and Adrian both have strong relationships with referring practices in the Barwon region and South West via previous work in their mobile specialist practice, Melbourne Animal Referral Services.
We aim to work closely with referring practices in the region and view collegial relationships as critical for ensuring optimal patient outcomes. Adrian and Ricky will continue providing a mobile surgical service to referring practices via GARS.
