Cassie has always shared a love and passion for animals, and knew from a young age that working with animals was what she wanted to do with her life.
n 2007, Cassie got her first job in the industry as a Veterinary Receptionist in her home town of Albury and this got her foot in the door to becoming a Nurse, qualified in 2011 at GoTafe Wangaratta.
In 2013 Cassie moved to Melbourne looking to expand her knowledge in nursing and pursue her dream of being a Surgical Nurse, getting a job at Lort Smith Animal Hospital was a massive change from the small Vet practice in Albury to the biggest Animal Hospital in Australia. At Lort Smith Cassie predominantly found herself in the Theatre department in the role of Surgical nurse and Theatre Coordinator. This is where she met surgical specialist Dr. Adrian Wallace and developed a great working relationship that developed into working full time with Adrian as his surgical assistant and bookings coordinator for his Mobile referral Surgical business, Mobile Surgical Solutions (now known as Melbourne Animal Referral Services).
Cassie’s role as Adrian’s head nurse and assistant, further developed into her being offered the position as Head Nurse and Hospital Co-ordinator at Geelong Animal Referral Services, she has since relocated from Melbourne to Geelong to take on this new role within the business and is looking forward to the challenge of running a highly respected service to the Geelong and surrounding community.
Cassie has been working with Adrian for the past 5 years, and has enjoyed learning and growing alongside the now very busy and fast paced businesses.
In Cassie’s personal time, you will find watching her beloved AFL team (GO SAINTS) and the F1 and V8 Supercars with her 4 fur-children, Hamish and Daphne, her two Griffon Bruxellois, and Sabrina and Harvey, her two Cats. Cassie also enjoys drinks with friends and keeping active and spending time with her family back in Albury.
